To address significant changes in tax practice in recent years, the AICPA has initiated a project to update the Statements on Standards for Tax Services (SSTS). The SSTS are enforceable standards under the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct. Areas of focus will be:
- Data security and privacy
- Tax quality control
- Taxpayer representation
- Reliance on technology tools
- Document retention
